Introduced from: The Pacific Northwest
Distribution: Southern B.C. to northern California, northwestern Europe, Atlantic Canada
Habitat: Intertidal to 25m depth
Identification: A short, broad stalk attaching it to the substrate, with most of the tunic being tough, brown, bumpy, wrinkly. There are two short siphons with alternate red and tan bands.
Impact Form dense populations. Can cause serious damage to shellfish farm and ship's hull. Can reduce boat speed and biodiversity by growing over other sessile organisms.
